With the enactment of the Electricity Act, 2003, Odisha Power Transmission Corporation Limited (OPTCL) came into existence with effect from 01.04.2005. OPTCL, registered on 29th March 2004 under the Companies Act, 1956, is a wholly owned Government Company and it is a deemed transmission licensee under the provisions of the Electricity Act, 2003. In its mission to develop skilled and satisfied human resources, fostering a service oriented attitude to its customers/stake holders and empowered to meet customer need in the changing scenarios and introducing modern training policies and practices, OPTCL has established one of its kind training institute in the Eastern India named Power Training Centre, Chandaka, an ISO 9001:2015 certified from date 27th November 2014 and CEA accredited Category – I Training Centre since 2002, to fulfil its goals. Also, employees are imparted training both internally through its training institute and through reputed external agencies of state, country and abroad to hone their skills for subsequent career development.
