In alignment with this philosophy, the Board of Directors in its 58th meeting approved the CSR & Sustainability Policy, which under Clause 4.2 prioritizes skill development as a strategic intervention for sustainable improvement in the lives of local youth. The policy emphasizes strengthening skill-building initiatives and imparting vocational or need-based training to enhance the employability of school/college dropouts and ITI pass-outs in various trades. This approach directly contributes to sectoral workforce development and local economic resilience.
During the year, the company undertook several key CSR initiatives in alignment with its policy directives:
Contribution of ₹10,00,000.00 to the Block Development Office, Tirtol, towards the renovation of a village library, promoting access to learning resources and educational support for rural youth.
Support of ₹31,25,000.00 extended to Centurion University of Technology and Management for a skill development project targeting rural tribal BPL youth, enhancing employability and livelihood opportunities.
Contribution of ₹50,00,000.00 made to the Odisha State Disaster Management Authority (OSDMA), reflecting the company’s commitment to community resilience and disaster preparedness.
Allocation of ₹1,28,00,000.00 towards the Apprenticeship Program in OPTCL, facilitating hands-on training and career readiness for young technical graduates and diploma holders.
